Chads Father's Truck
When this 80 D100 2WD Ram came into the family it had already been upgraded from a 6 cyl to a 318 4BBL. Chad felt it needed more torque to be up to the task of pulling his race car, so he built (with his dad footing the bill) a "mild" 440, .030+ TRW pistons with 9.43-1 compression, Performer RPM intake, 516 heads with 2.08-1.74 valves and mild bowl cleanup, comp 268-222 464" lift hydraulic cam, Holley Avenger 770 vac carb, and 1 3/4 Hedman headers, 2.5" Dynomax Hemi turbo mufflers, 727 trans, tight 11" dynamic converter with 1600-1800 stall. He has tinted the windows and done a brake job. Good brakes sound like a excellent idea since he ran 14.01 @ 98.3 the first time out. He is using a B&M truck mega shifter and has replaced the stock gauges with Summit white faced gauges. He gets around 15 mpg, which is great, considering the amount of power the truck makes. Nice truck Terry! Nice job Chad!
UPDATE: Chad's new best et/mph is 13.56 at 101 mph. WOW! IMPRESSIVE!
